Ira Stark
Franchise Owner & General Manager
Ira brings a lifetime of local history to Pickleplex Promenade. Growing up in Thornhill, he was there on the first day Promenade Mall opened in 1986. Now, he’s returning with a new mission—building an incredible pickleball community at Pickleplex Promenade.
As an NCCP Level 1 Certified Instructor and an avid pickleball player, Ira is passionate about sharing the sport with others. He’s excited to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced player or picking up a paddle for the first time, Pickleplex Promenade is the perfect place to play, learn, and connect.
Beyond pickleball, Ira enjoys spending time with his family and dog, traveling, hiking, and fishing. He can’t wait to meet everyone, so be sure to stop by and say hi!

Whether you’re a beginner looking to get some practice, or an experienced player seeking friendly competition, Open Play offers a chance to grow the game with all levels allowed and expected in this welcoming environment. Courts are shared, games are quick, and everyone rotates so that everyone gets plenty of playtime. It’s a great way to meet fellow players, improve your game, and enjoy the sport!

Led by experienced instructors, you’ll learn the basic rules, etiquette, techniques, and strategies to get you comfortable on the court.
